In our society particularly there is a built in desire to be noticed not just by individuals but by corporations and causes. Attention means both fame and money. Because of this, we have millions of people, causes and brands doing all they can to get our attention. It is very easy for us to lose sight of what is important and focus instead on things that are merely transient. This is never more true than during the Christmas holiday season.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, –Hebrews 12:1
